Senior Services
People are living longer than ever, thanks to modern science and a better understanding of the needs of older people. Recognizing and understanding those special needs, Martha Lloyd Community Services has developed two programs to enhance the lives of our senior population. As people retire, disabled or not, they often find themselves becoming inactive. We recognize that it is important for seniors to remain active and involved, to assure good physical and mental health.
Orchard Grove Senior Residential Program
Persons in the Orchard Grove Program will find a relaxed atmosphere focusing on socialization and recreation. The special medical needs of persons in this program are a priority. Licensed practical nurses are available to monitor the medical concerns and the overall well being of our senior population.
As people grow older, there may be a need for additional support and supervision. Staff is trained specifically to monitor and give compassionate care to individuals who may be disoriented, or suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Orchard View Senior Center
Residents in the Orchard View Senior Center are provided services to enhance the quality of their life. This program for those persons 60 years of age and older, provides activities designed to foster physical and mental fitness. The program focuses on socialization, relaxation, recreation, and community activity. We believe that the senior years need not be a time of boredom or loneliness.
It is important for seniors to remain as active as their health will allow and we structure services for them to meet that goal. To help individuals to have active, healthy, productive senior years, Orchard View Senior Center provides a program of activities five days a week. These activities are designed to give seniors an opportunity to participate in a variety of planned experiences, or to choose other activities according to their needs and desires. The Center focuses on local community events, such as fairs, festivals and shows. Trips outside the local community are regularly scheduled.
Many activities occur simultaneously in a bright, cheerful setting which is completely accessible. Our trained staff provide assistance where necessary to allow individuals the opportunity to fully participate in our activities. Medical monitoring and medication administration are provided by a staff of Licensed Practical Nurses, and a Registered nurse is available to consult. A nutritionally balanced hot meal is served daily at the Center. Special diets are provided as ordered by a physician, and menus are developed by a licensed dietician.
